The begining of a new cycle

I am very excited to be back on track. I tried not to emphasize how truly disappointed I was in my marathon performance and results. I know you all understand the pain of training so hard with your whole being for that long and just having it fall out from under you on that one day. I did suffer from some post marathon depression. I tried not to blog about it to much since all of you left such awesome comments after the race report. I guess I didn't want to be a drag. Anyways, the month of October is behind me and I am super stoked about my new goals.
The next event I'm officially training for is:
Capital Peak Mega Fat Ass (that's really the name, I swear.)
They have a 34 and 17 miler. I'm opting for the 17 miler. It's all trail, all weather, all bad ass!! My hubby leaves this week so my desire to blog or do anything but hang with him has taken over. I'll be back when he leaves.

You're hardcore lady! Trails in all weather---yikes! I'm afraid of trails in the sunshine.

Sad that your hubs is leaving again. Maybe a trip to P-town is in your future since he's going to be gone. Anytime we'd love to see ya!

Totally understand about your husband, it's about you guys until he leaves...hope you have a nice week together!
I would never have known you were havin' the blues but you seem totally ready to move forward with your new goals..."Mega Fat Ass..." yes, that would motivate me too!
Hang in there girl, thanks for always being so postive on my blog!

That sounds like such a fun event. I'm obsessed with trail running, so I would love to participate in something like that. However, there aren't events like that where I live. :-(

I'm sorry you've had a sucky time lately. Keep your chin up, girl. Just a side note - you could never be a drag!

Have fun with your husband this week!

I love the name of that race! Nothing says bad ass like mega fat ass.

I'm ready for depression to set in soon, since the season is over for me. Hohum.

Enjoy your time with hubs!

How the hell did I miss this post? I'm glad that you are out of your post marathon funk/depression and that you have signed up for a new race. I would have signed up for it just because it had the words "fat ass" in the name. I love trail runs too!

What a great race name! 17 miles of trail - I can't wait to hear about it!

So sorry your husband is leaving again. :(

Good luck avoiding post marathon letdown. I've had it before, and the deeper it goes, the harder it is to get back. New races, new goals are great way to keep it up.
17 miles all weather? Hard core!

OMG, I love the name of that race. Too funny.

PS - I totally get being down and disappointed....I'm glad you let yourself feel those emotions and I'm glad you've moved past them.

Oh, don't be dissapointed. SO many things can go wrong in the marathon. I am so excited about your trail race. You are going to have a ball! I was going to do a 50K on trails but honestly I feel so unprepared that I will probably just do 2 loops for 16 miles. Oh well. Glad you are back on track with your training.
