"new years" in March

Has anybody noticed that today is March 1st AND it falls on a Monday (which I consider the first day of the week). New month. New week. For some reason it has the sentiments of New Years Day for me and I'm super jacked about my training/racing schedule for March.
Maybe because I am finally getting serious about my training season. Maybe because February was kinda a weird month with traveling and other scheduling conflicts. Maybe because trees, shrubs, and bulbs are in full blooming mode right now. Whatever it is, I'm welcoming today as a fresh start to the beginning of a new kick-ass season!
Every weekend of March I have a race:
3/13 - St. Patty's Day 5k
3/21 - The Big Climb Stairclimb race
3/27 - another 5k
I feel major PR's coming my way!!!!
I got this book online and I love it! I used it in the pool the first time this morning and it was a fantastic workout....3100 meters. I haven't had this good of a swim workout in months. I bought it because it coincides with another book I'm using for 70.3 training (currently base training). So glad I did.
Sample workout:

Here's to a killer March.

YES!!! So excited for March, just to be that much closer to spring. That's awesome that you have races coming up every weekend, what a fun month this will be for ya.

Alisa has that book, too, and although most of the workouts are out of my league right now, I am probably going to pick one up for me, too!

Here's to a GREAT march!

March comes in as my second favorite month of the year, I'm down with the fresh start too!

I'm slightly jealous that you have spring, I'm watching the snow fall right now.

Yay, I love the energy. 3000+ for a swim is awesome. The most I've done was 1.5 miles! Looking forward to reading about those prs!

Great March! I like that book, that's exactly what I need for the pool (if I ever go again). I just swim laps get bored and leave.

Ummm, what's that stairclimber race? That sounds scary. And hard. Good luck!

Drinking yet?

I love the idea of March 1 as New Years. I kind of want a re-do on 2010 so I'm going to get on board with this!

Yay spring and race season. You're going to do great.

I thought of you when I saw signs for Gig Harbor! If I was up there longer I would have made a point to meet up. Maybe next time?

That looks like an awesome book!

What are you using to train for your half ironman?

I have that book too! So now when I list which workout I've done you can follow along =).

I've got a 5k coming up---haven't run one in so long wonder if I know how to just run 3 miles.

I did the Muscular Endurance #2 yesterday but acutally thought it was 4 x 100 for 2 sets and then the last one 3 x 100 so I ended up doing 2500 yds---arms were JELLO! It's mean to do put a 300 pull after FAST 100's.
