Hold the Phone

Major Dilema. I just found out that my cousin is getting married on the same day as the Seattle RnR half that was going to be my PR race. I made my training schedule and had my 'running coach' look it over and make some changes all geared toward this one day. What the hell am I going to do now? The only other race that falls 2 weeks before is the Helvita Half Marathon in Hilsboro. As I see it, I don't really have much of an option for a replacement. I'm bummed! Anybody done this race before?

I haven't but it's not too far from where I live (in Beaverton) so you'd have a spectator.

What a bummer! One my friends is getting married on a Friday afternoon the week after the San Diego marathon...it couldn't be worse timing...I'm not supposed to take vacation during the legislative session! Weddings! (Though I'm sure people had issues with mine.)

Oh bummer..

I have a couple weddings this year so I know how it can be stressful to plan around.. but like Alisa I guess people probably had to adjust their plans around my wedding too..

I haven't heard of that race but it looks great! Unfortunately I'm doing a tri that day.. I want to do a summer Half Marathon though so if I find any other good ones I'll let you know.

Alisa & Jen - I know what you mean. I got married on Orcas Island and it was a weekend event in August so I know that had to screw up some plans for people. I absolutely can't complain. Just make adjustments I suppose. Maybe it will be a faster course anyways...

anyway you can do the wedding AND the race? Then you could drink all the cocktails you wanted and know you worked them all off already (can you tell I'm drinking wine right now??)...

You'll be fine. My "rule of thumb" for half's is jsut make sure you get in 2 really good 10 milers before the race :)
